Kat, gotta agree with the hormonally challenged “T” (I’m praying with and for ya, sister)that this type of stuff is just not our business…and I own being jealous of Hef for his being knee deep in deliciousness. Sigh. As to reasons…I plain didn’t want my missus to be part of some other dude’s life and wanted to cut her out of the herd and put her in my coral. Two awesome grown sons later, I’m glad I did. But I’d consider changing places with Hef…at least for one night :) Ciao, T.O.

It’s funny, in the past, marriage was more of an economic partnership, and only recently has it turned into something that must be based on romance, chemistry, and sexual attraction.

I have to agree with T, and with you Kat that there are many reasons to get married (or not), that “right” is self-defined, and that the important thing is to be clear on your reasons and your partner’s reasons instead of assuming we are all in agreement. As long as both parties are happy and there’s no power imbalance, then who cares? To be honest, I find the property-relationship of a traditional marriage much more offensive.
